I got a voicemail when I got out of my last class today. "Hey Molly it's Dad, just wanted to remind you that you're registered to vote at the High School. Make sure on the last proposition that you vote yes."
I am thinking: Er... what? O.K.

Two minutes later... another phone call from the Pops:
"Hey Molly, did you vote? (no pause for me to answer) You do know the difference between democrats and republicans? (again... no pause) You don't have to if you don't want to, you're an adult."
"Uh, cool Dad? Thanks for giving me permission. Love you, bye."
Really I am thinking WTF? I am an adult! I can make my own choices and not voting doesn't make me lazy or irresponsible. I don't need to be told to vote or scowled if I don't fill out a ballot. I refuse to regret my decision. Even if Sean Combs/Puff Daddy/P Diddy/ Diddy threatens me with guilt and death.

Why I am apathetic during this election:
- Don't remember anyone's name
- Everyone annoyed me with their television commericals every 2 seconds
- I don't know any canidates' stance on issues, because they are too busy attacking others
- Voting at my high school? I hated that place, I hate that place now too
- I don't like seeing my ex teachers holding up signs, don't and never will care about their political idealogy
- On voting for sherrif: no matter who I vote for I'm sure that the police will stop more minor consumptions than they will rapes and domestic violence
- I don't like the pressure that I get from the media and/or my peers
- Politicians are crooks and probably would be mean to me in real life
- I refuse to contribute to society based on my uneducated voting guesses
Don't get me wrong, voting is good. If you voted today pat yourself on the back. You are what this country is all about.
As for me, I'm leaving the voting to the astronauts.

i strongly dislike politics.
that is all.
I love this post too! I am all for voting, but I didnt vote this year because I wasn't informed on the candidate's platforms and didn't want to blindly vote for someone.
